Life is in full swing now and there is no rest for the weary. It started a few weeks ago with the kick off of triathlon season (ok, technically it was a duathlon). The Doylestown Duathlon was the perfect little race to test out my fitness and remind my body how to race. I definitely needed the reminder although the race went smooth and I was happy with my splits. After the race my husband and I headed up to my parents to celebrate their birthday’s which I missed while in Australia. Plus, it was one of those big birthdays although I won’t tell which one. We went out for oysters and Cajun food. Yum! We got home Sunday night and I just barely got unpacked and laundry done before I was re-packing to head back up to my parent’s house the following weekend. This time though it was a wine tasting trip through the Finger Lakes with my aunt and her friends. I convinced Coach Dan to adjust my schedule so I could have Saturday off but I had to promise to get a good workout in Sunday. I brought my bike up to NY with the hope of taking advantage of the car free country roads but my plan got squashed when I woke up Sunday morning to little white flakes flying through the air. Snow in April?! Are you kidding?! I remembered why I don’t live in Upstate NY. So, I had to leave the weekend early so I could get home and get my workout in. Oh well. We still had a blast and enjoyed some awesome wine. Now I’m packing again and leaving tomorrow for Texas for Lonestar 70.3. Fortunately it has been an easy week of training and I’ve been able to sleep in 3 days in a row! Love it! The whirlwind doesn’t end after this weekend either but right now Lonestar has my undivided attention. Should be a fun weekend though. Wish me luck!
